4 World Trade Center officially opened Wednesday, marking a major milestone in the rebirth of Lower Manhattan.
It is the first tower to open at the new World Trade Center site. The office building is 72 stories high and spans roughly 2.5 million square feet. It will eventually be home to the Port Authority.
World Trade Center developer Larry Silverstein said it is much more than just a building -- it's a symbol of pride for him and for all New Yorkers.
The glass tower is located directly across from the 9/11 Memorial. Those who work here will be able to look out on a Lower Manhattan that Mayor Mike Bloomberg said is better and stronger than ever.
